The Easterhouse Phoenix Community Centre provides a welcoming and safe environment for the community to utilise.
The facility is multi-purposeful, which can adapt to the needs of the community. Given large and open space plus purpose built rooms Easterhouse Phoenix can deliver activities aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of local people. Through physical activity and social inclusion the Centre can act as a catalyst for residents to improve low mood, build confidence, overcome anxieties and increase their physical activity levels – which can be applied to all local demographics.
A bright and vibrant venue resonates with local people which reduces key barriers to entering a new facility; automatically this removes negative barriers that could be seen as too clinical and therefore turns people away. To achieve this Easterhouse Phoenix provides an inclusive programme of activity that is attractive for local residents that encourage return visits and positive feedback across the community.
Easterhouse Phoenix works with local partners, for example, Alliance Scotland – a division of the Health Service to target and work with hard to reach / hard to engage with people in the community. This is vital to improving health and wellbeing across the local spectrum from those living with poor mental health to those who are already active but could benefit from wider social interaction.
